Jutoku
Founded in 1914, Meisho Gakuen is an educational institution located in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. Grounded in the Jodo Buddhist philosophy of Tomoiki—“living together in harmony”—the school promotes a holistic approach to education through their Jutoku High School, Junior High School, and Kindergarten. True to its motto, “Dream Big, Stay Rooted,” students enjoy a vibrant and enriching school life, where close relationships with teachers help guide them toward their future paths beyond graduation. The school’s logo reimagines the phonetic sounds of “Ju-to-ku” as the initials J, T, and K, arranged to inspire the image of a majestic tree("Ju" is tree in Japanese). Its cheerful mascot, Pippa-kun, was inspired by the sacred Bodhi tree (Pippala) and regularly appears at school events. Notably, the school’s anthem features lyrics by Head of School, Hideki Noguchi, and was composed by renowned musician Haruomi Hosono.
