Shōwa Town

Although Shōwa Town ceased to exist when it was merged with Kasukabe City in 2005, it remains well known for its tradition of flying giant kites. Its legacy lives on in the logo of the roadside station Ōdako no Sato – Michi-no-Eki Shōwa ("Hometown of Giant Kites"). The motif of a giant kite soaring through the sky conveys a fresh and uplifting image.
